Blue Flower

With all the finger pointing today, it makes one really think about who is actually responsible for the chaos in our country these days. Many Blame the President, many blame the governors, many blame politicians, etc… Well to get started, we need a lesson on government, and who does what.

Our Federal Government is composed of three distinct branches: legislative, executive, and judicial. All State Governments are modeled after the Federal Government and consist of three branches: executive, legislative, and judicial, as well.

1 - The Legislative Branch oversees making laws. It is made up of the Congress and several Government agencies. The law-making process starts with a bill. The bill has to be voted on by both houses of Congress. The House of Representatives and the Senate. If they both vote for the bill to become a law, the bill is sent to the President of the United States. He or she can choose whether or not to sign the bill. If the President signs the bill, it becomes a law.

2 - The Executive Branch of our Government oversees making sure that the laws of the United States are obeyed.

3 - The Judicial Branch of the U.S. government is the system of federal courts and judges that interprets laws made by the legislative branch and enforced by the executive branch.

The President of the United States is the head of the Executive Branch on the Federal level. The President gets help from the Vice President, department heads (called Cabinet members), and heads of independent agencies.

The governor heads the government's Executive Branch in each state or territory and, depending on the individual jurisdiction, may have considerable control over government budgeting, and other executive issues.

At the top of the judicial branch are the nine justices of the Supreme Court, the highest court in the United States.

The Judicial Branch is made up of the Congress and several Government agencies. Congress has two parts: The House of Representatives and the Senate. Members of the House of Representatives and the Senate are voted into office by American citizens in each state.

OK, Now that we understand who does what, let’s look at a few things…

MASKS – Your Governor can not make laws (He is in the legislative branch of Government), so he cannot do anything to force you to wear a mask. No bill was voted on, no Presidential signature, NO LAW

The Virus – Neither Our President Nor your Governor created the Covid-19 virus. Both were given a very difficult situation to deal with, but they did not create this. As Executive officers, there is not a whole lot either can do. They can fund the necessary agencies that were looking for remedies and cures, and from what I am reading the President did that on a federal level, and most if not all states followed suit. No blame there…

The Violence – Looting and rioting are illegal, and it is the executive branch that is responsible to enforce the laws made by our legislative branch. Since the looting and rioting are state specific, they fall under the Governors list of responsibilities. When the outbreaks spread to many states, then it became a federal problem and The POTS stepped up and offered help (National Guard). When Most of our Governors from one side of the isle decided to refuse federal help when offered, Those Governors need to accept responsibility for what they did.

Economic troubles – Most of these are caused by the illegal shutdown of businesses. This decision came from the Governors. How they can change suggesting that certain protection is in place, to fining people for not conforming, is not legal at all. The economy is another thing under the executive branch. Governors are responsible for the economy in their state, and the US President is responsible to help where needed on the federal level.

The Wall – Why would we not want to secure our borders? For some reason one of our political parties feels we should leave them so anyone can just walk in. The same party that wants illegal immigrants to be able to vote. Think on this one… We do have immigration laws, and enforcing those laws falls under the jurisdiction of the executive branch on the Federal level. That would be our President’s responsibility (Get out of his way)

Immigration – We have a huge problem here, and this is a task under the executive branch. They need to reform this system, it is broken. Yeah, let people in, but not without proper papers. Make the system easier for immigrants. This country was built on immigrants.
