Blue Flower

Avila Caves are the caves up above Pirates cove.

There is free camping there, and Dana and I decided to check it out.

Dec 7, 2018 - Dec 9, 2018

Dana and I visited the caves, and hiked down to the beach. The weather was perfect, and we saw some beautiful sun sets and sun rises. There are a lot of trails in the area, some simple, and some for the more serious hikers. We hiked on a few and had a real good time. We hiked over into the tunnel cave that we used to be able to drive down to. The trails down to the beach are much nicer than I remember. There are actually steps most of the way down where it used to be kind of hard. Sunday was an ultra low tide, so we got to see the caves that are under the water most of the time. I would like to go back when it is a bit warmer. I might even be tempted to get into that cool Pacific water.
